fe3d

Update Feb 2008

A new update is available for fe3d-0.11. This update will build correctly under Unicode, and has a couple of minor visualization fixes.

You can check it out from svn using

svn co http://svn.icapsid.net/fe3d/fe3d/branches/fe3d_0.11/ fe3d

Since I have been busy working on Siafoo lately I have not had much time to finish up the OSG port of fe3d, however I will try to get to it sometime before the end of March. Of course you can always contribute some patches too :)

Old Update

fe3d is in a book, Security Data Visualization by Greg Conti. See it's homepage here http://nostarch.com/frameset.php?startat=securityvisualization or on Amazon

I have not thoroughly read it yet. But from paging through and reading isolated sections, it is a very good survey of data visualization and I would recommend anyone using fe3d to go check out the book and see what real security visualization is like =)

About

fe3d is a multiplatform, OpenGL based 3D visualization tool for network security information. It currently supports insecure.org's nmap XML log files. If you have nmap installed fe3d will be able to act like a 3D front end, that will allow you to scan hosts and networks. In fact the name fe3d comes from FrontEnd3D.

fe3d is brought to you under the GNU GPL License
